Quakers Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. white flour
- 1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 c. quick oats
- White sugar for coating cookie dough balls
Directions:
- Cream the shortening and brown sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla. Mix the flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl, the gradually mix in with the shortening-sugar mixture. Stir in the oats.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll the balls in white sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 10-12 minutes at 375° until cookie edges start to turn golden.
