St. Thomas is an active partner in Tysons Interfaith, a group which works to create opportunities for spiritual connection, growth, learning and service with those who live, work, and play in the Tysons community. Tysons Interfaith’s motto is Connecting, Learning, Serving. The organization strives to help those who live, work and play in Tysons forge connections with one another, learn about the diverse faith traditions that are represented in our part of Fairfax County, and serve those in need within our community. You can learn more about Tysons Interfaith on their website.
Through our work with Tysons Interfaith, St. Thomas worked with the McLean Islamic Center, to host an Interfaith Iftar (the feast after sunset held each night during Ramadan. St Thomas members joined with members from the McLean Islamic Center and from Temple Rodef Shalom in enjoying an enormous dinner in Hudson Hall, followed by speeches. People of different faiths enjoyed sharing the feast together. Muslim prayers meeting followed dinner, in the Narthex.
Upcoming Tysons Interfaith Events will be listed here.
Members of Tysons Interfaith visited the Open House at the Washington DC Temple – Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints (LDS) in the spring of 2022.
