Men Eating Breakfast
Drawing its name from Jesus’ invitation “Come and have breakfast” found in John 21:12, Men Eating Breakfast (MEB) is an informal, open community of the men of the St. Thomas. All are invited to join in its various activities.
As the name implies, eating breakfast is one of our principal activities! Prior to COVID, we gathered on the second Saturday of every month, at 7:45 a.m. at the Virginian Restaurant on Maple Avenue at Glyndon Street in Vienna (map below), with no agenda more demanding than to consume consumables and enjoy one other’s company. In acknowledgment of the fact that 7:45 a.m. on a Saturday morning comes a bit early for some, MEB also gather periodically for dinner at a local watering hole for the same purpose. During COVID, we moved to Zoom (and what some would say was a more civilized hour of 9:00 a.m.) for coffee and conversation.
