Annual Parish Retreat
Each year, the parishioners of St. Thomas have the opportunity to spend a weekend at Shrine Mont in Orkney Springs, Virginia, a community in western Shenandoah County, at our annual Parish Retreat.
This Retreat continues to be one of the highlights of the church year. Each year we welcome new participants and dedicated returnees. We spend time getting to know one another over meal times, worship, singing, and fellowship. The kids strengthen their ties with their church friends, making up games and excursions to the playground in this beautiful natural setting. In an old-town atmosphere, the kids have more freedom than they do at home and know when the meal bells ring to gather at the dining-room door, where we then sit at large tables and eat family-style. Adults have the opportunity to get to know their fellow parishioners and make friends. Other highlights include a bonfire and s’mores. If you haven’t yet joined St. Thomas’ at Shrine Mont, add it to your list of things to do!
